Don’t miss the latest updates on the improved SST technology!
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the fourth newsletter from the SSTAR project!
We are glad to share with you some achievements and news from the last few months.
SSTAR in a nutshell:
SSTAR is a European project that aims to promote Solid-State Transformers (SSTs) – a quite recent promising innovative technology.
SSTAR will increase SSTs operational voltage level to widen their application within the energy power sector while improving sustainability (towards a zero-emission electric system) and expanding the beneficiary sectors.
In the last few months, the SSTAR project successfully produced 200 liters of selected biobased dielectric fluid at lab scale and developed safety measures to secure operational safety.
In addition, the high-voltage SST module has been designed with optimized magnetic, mechanical, thermal, and power electronics. This provides insights and results for further prototyping and testing.
Finally, to ensure a high replication potential to SSTAR technologies, the stakeholders will be involved at different stages of the project, through questionnaires assessing the technology acceptance and targeted workshops.
Don’t miss the next updates to find out more about the improved SST technology! If you haven’t done it yet, have a look at our presentation video, and remember to follow us on social media!
Enjoy your reading.
